Briefing Session on Revised B-BBEE Codes – EconoBEE Newsletter – 05 October 2012

Impact on your current scorecard

The revised B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice will have a major impact on your current B-BBEE certificate.

Even though they have only been issued as a draft for comment, preparation needs to start immediately.

We will be hosting a series of highly informative briefing sessions in October/November which will discuss the changes in great detail.

If you would like to book please email or download our brochure.

Alternatively contact our consulting department who will be able to calculate a revised codes scorecard, prepare you for the implementation of the revised codes and take the stress out of implementing B-BBEE.

The revised B-BBEE Codes were presented by the dti minister on Tuesday. There is a 60 day period for public commentary and submissions. Some proposed changes are far reaching but it is important to know about these changes as early as possible, so that you can:

  • Begin to take required action in your business for when the codes do come into operation, which is expected to be in the second half of 2013.
  • Add to the submission if you have any viewpoint on the changes

Learn from the recognised leaders on B-BBEE:

  • Understand the implications of the new codes
  • Learn about the new strategies required to optimise your score

EconoBEE will be holding a series of briefings on the new codes and provide a submission to the dti.

About the presenter: Keith Levenstein has many years of experience in business and was one of the earliest BEE consultants. He is a sought-after public speaker, on radio and TV, supporter with great understanding of B-BBEE, not afraid to speak his mind.

About EconoBEE: EconoBEE is a specialist BEE consultancy, with understanding of the intricacies of the legal framework of BEE as well as the legal and technical issues of how to calculate a scorecard. EconoBEE has made many submissions to the dti on improving BEE, many of which have been implemented. This includes the new amendment bill and many notices, including issues of fronting, BEE Commissioner, verification, new targets, clarifications and interpretations. EconoBEE has consulted to thousands of companies, from the smallest EMEs to giant listed JSE businesses. We have trained more than 3000 people, including from many verification agencies, registered B-BBEE auditors and BEE consultancies.

If you really want to understand the implications and “ins-and-outs” of the revised codes, EconoBEE and Keith Levenstein will provide it, in an easily understandable and entertaining format.
