Overview of Managed Services

We have been offering Managed Services for over 10 years. Our initial inspiration was modelled on the IT industry where businesses with relatively low skills or with little desire to become involved in technology required IT for the management and running of their business.

 

We quickly realised that what businesses have in common are a lack of skills, and a desire be compliant and to automate some administrative tasks. Most business owners are experts in their field and tend to dislike activities outside of their field. We also discovered that the majority of businesses not require a full-time person to manage these tasks which resulted in them doing the tasks themselves (and becoming agitated) or it being passed onto someone without the necessary skills or experience. Unlike the IT industry, business owners had a belief that the task could be learnt by junior people (who had no desire to learn or aptitude) and was managed by the same junior person (who does not want to manage).

 

When issues arose, the business environment became turbulent often resulting in the proverbial white flag being raised to give up. It almost became acceptable that this was an insurmountable issue and ultimately the business owner would never find a solution. The issue then reoccurred the following year, and the following year… retriggering the exact same response, ending in the same frustrating conclusion. Ultimately business stagnated on these critical issues.

Outsourced vs semi-outsourced vs internal

  • Fully outsourced to allow businesses to fully divest their non-essential internal time.
  • Semi-outsourced to allow businesses who have some capacity internally to work effectively with our consultants. We will match consultants with strengths in only what your business requires. For example your HR department handles Employment Equity but semi-outsources Black Economic Empowerment and Labour Relations.
  • Internal can be achieved in one of two ways. Through managed services to overtime build capacity internally through regular knowledge transfer or through our training department by attending our frequent workshops and seminars.
