Say YES to Matriculants and move up by 2 BEE levels
Welcome back from all at EconoServ! We hope that you had a wonderful festive season and are ready to start the year off. We are very excited about 2019 and what the year has to offer! We have updated our website to include our 2019 calendar of events and have already started helping clients with their transformation strategies. As our former president and leader Nelson Mandela so eloquently put it: “Sometimes, it falls upon a generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”
In other news minister Angie Motshekga announced a 78.2% matric pass rate for the class of 2018 with 172 043 students passing with a bachelor degree entrance. The overall pass rate has increased but also leaves us asking the question, what will the youth be doing in 2019?
Find a job?
Become unskilled and unemployed?
With unemployment on the rise in our country and markets becoming highly competitive, the youth is essential to the future of any business. Businesses need to use this time to empower the youth by either hiring them in their companies and imparting skills or by placing them on a learnership. Training the youth or giving them learnership opportunities can help companies earn up to 25 B-BBEE points on the scorecard under skills development and improve management control. Other benefits include learnership allowances with SARS under section 12H and seta grants.
The Y.E.S initiative is a Youth Employment Service that has been talked about for much of 2018. With thousands of youth entering the job market the YES initiative provides a benefit to companies by allowing them to move up by 2 BEE levels as well as get a very competent new worker.
EconoBEE can help you with putting all of these strategies in place in your company with ease. In addition to our specialist consulting, we hold workshops to help you better navigate the complex legislation.
